EVENTS
AUGUST 22-24- JACKSON
This year the 1st Michigan participated in its 14th Jackson Reenactment. This year proved to be one of the smallest Jackson events in recent years with well below average attendance in both military and sutler areas. The 1st Camped in the same spot as it did last year and averaged about 12 soldiers in the ranks each day. This year’s event scenario was Wilsons Creek with many units portraying early war militia units. The battles on both days were complete confederate victorys with the 1st Michigan taking 100% casualties on the second day. On Saturday it rained a little bit keeping our rain streak alive this year. Despite the low numbers a great time was still had by all.
SEPTEMBER 13-14– COLDWATER
Depot is located at
Civil War Camp and Train Robbery 2pm train ride both days. Help the Army defend the train against the Outlaws!!
This year we will be doing a post war impression and reenacting and old west style train robbery. The 1st Michigan is the only invited group to this event and the train group is providing all of the outlaws. So bring out your post war impressions and all of those carbines and pistols. I think the plan is to ride the train out to quincy where we will be ambushed by the outlaws.
SEPTEMBER 26-28 Angola, IN
The Battle of Champion Hill
1st Year Event for us. Sound like it will be a decent size event that many Indiana units attend. Hosted by the 50th Virginia which hooked is up at Portage.
